Reena Sahay

Prof. Reena Sahay is a retired Professor of Music from Patliputra University, Patna. She did her post-graduation from Banaras Hindu University and her research from Magadh University, Bodh Gaya. For the last 50 years, she has been continuously associated with the study and spread of Indian classical music. Her research and later published as a book ' Ragatarangini ' composed by Pandit Lochan, a scholar and musician from Mithila region of Bihar, has been widely acclaimed. She has participated as an orator in several seminars/workshops in the country and abroad.

Her articles have been published in reputed journals discussing topics like history, development, their place in the present context of classical music. Prof. Reena Sahay has done research work on both practical and theoretical aspects of Indian music.  Music and Yoga, Music and Psychology, Mental and Physical Healing by Music, Vedic Music, Music and Literature, are her specialized areas of study and research.

Her programs / talks are broadcast on Radio and Dooradarshan. Even after retirement, she continues to participate in educational works. As a research subject specialist in Music, she is invited to various universities and institutions.
